Regenerative business cultures for thriving people and planet

01/07/2021 @ 18:00 - 19:30

With the exciting insights from our previous #Regenerate21 sessions, we are pleased to continue the exploration into the Regenerative Economy with our guest Michelle Holliday, author of “The Age of Thrivability”. After having clarified the roles of thresholds and allocations in economic design, we are now looking into the level of organisations and businesses. During the session, we will shed light on the key features of a thriving regenerative business. Among them, we will discuss how to design-in joyfulness, health and creativity.

You can find the video clips from our past #Regenerate21 events on our Vimeo-channel

“Now, more of us are able to imagine a different world. More of us are able to think holistically and systemically. More of us are aware of how life works, how precious it is and how much is at stake. And more of us are coming together in service of a truly life-affirming, life-aligned society.” Michelle Holliday

Our last #Regenerate21 guest from May 2021, Phoebe Tickell, has invited us to dive deeper into the power of imagination. By cultivating collective imagination, it is possible to enhance moral capacity and consequently, contribute to a more peaceful and empathetic society. And indeed, changing our world requires first soundly re-imagining our world. A great place to start collective re-imagination practices are organisations and businesses.

Perspectivist is therefore pleased to discuss the transition of organisations and businesses towards regenerative practices with Michelle Holliday. With her book “The Age of Thrivability”, she powerfully demonstrates what counts in organisational dynamics. Following decades of mechanical models on change management and mostly quantitative social research, up until today’s technology-focussed innovation approaches, Michelle Holliday invites us to take another look into the dynamics of change.

Indeed, many methodologies and tools used in business development and consulting today have been designed without considering how it will be applied – a recipe for failure. That’s why Michelle believes that for innovation to be sustainable, we have to learn to work with the principles of nature, as well as with the uniquenesses of people and social groups. For Michelle, “it is not enough to protest against the old, and it is not enough to imagine the new. It will require the ongoing work of learning and living into the more life-aligned worldview.” Besides the liminal practice of imagination, it is thus also a question of learning to live a regenerative mindset in life and work.

Regenerative businesses as collaborative and adaptive living systems can make a difference. That’s why we are very pleased to discuss with you and Michelle on how to bring regenerative innovation and organisational wellbeing to the places we work and socialise in.
