Vital conversations at the heart of Europe
Hosted by Michelle Holliday and Jean-Philippe Steeger (Perspectivist)
What if we had truly transformational conversations at the heart of Europe? With leaders and communicators, we explored the power of shifting narratives, building alliances of care and cultivating a thrivability practice. The full-day interactive workshop on 17 May 2023 in Brussels offered a new horizon beyond traditional strategies of influencing, lobbying and communicating.
Implications
Our interactive sessions pointed to a hopeful emerging shift in the human story, from an extractive, mechanistic worldview to a deeper alignment with life. The foundation of that story is recognizing our organisations, networks and communities as living ecologies, with profound implications for:
- The purpose of business, politics and civil society organisations at a time of multiple existential crises.
- The role and practice of leadership and communications in complex stakeholder ecosystems.
- Pathways of integrating multiple perspectives and ways of knowing, including insights from nature, our bodies, and Indigenous and global wisdom traditions.
- What it means to be effective in a complex and changing world, while remaining aligned to personal needs and values.
- The design of transformational communication ecosystems, messaging and engagement.
